A New Chapter for Spike Brewing

My name is Billy Walker, and along with my father, Bill, Sr., I am proud to be the new owner of Spike Brewing.

One of the first things we noticed about Spike is how much its customers care about it. Many of you have been brewing on Spike equipment for years. When a brand you have trusted for that long changes hands, it is only natural to have questions. We want to answer them honestly, starting with who we are.

Who We Are

Bill, Sr. and I own a stainless distribution company that supplies fittings, valves, and accessories for sanitary process applications, including food processing, distilling, and brewing. Because so many of those products are used by homebrewers and commercial breweries, we already had industry knowledge and a real connection to the brewing community long before the chance to buy Spike came along.

That background matters. We know how much quality, precision, reliability, and continuity matter when people are building systems they depend on.

What This Sale Means

You may have seen some messaging before this sale that caused confusion about Spike’s future. Let me be clear. Spike has been acquired by a family that believes in the brand, believes in the quality of the product, and is committed to the company for the long term.

We understand these products, and we care deeply about the reputation of the business. Our intention is to continue offering the full Spike product line, and all existing warranties will be honored.

Recognizing Ben Caya

We also want to take a moment to recognize Spike’s founder, Ben Caya. Ben built Spike from the ground up, and the loyal customer base we are fortunate to serve today is the result of years of his hard work and dedication. His commitment to design, manufacturing, and refinement is a big part of what makes Spike equipment worth owning.

Those are the qualities we intend to protect. The company’s commitment to well-built, top-quality brewing equipment will never change. Neither will its focus on serious homebrewers, small breweries, and people who care about their craft.

Building on a Strong Foundation

We bought Spike because of what it already is, but our goal is to build on that foundation. We also know there is room to improve. Lead times can shorten. Communication can be stronger. The customer experience can be better. And Spike’s connection to its community can grow even closer.

An Update on the Move

There is one important change we want to share. We are moving Spike from its longtime facility in Milwaukee to a new home in Blackwood, New Jersey, about twenty minutes outside Philadelphia, a city with a long brewing tradition and real enthusiasm for beer. The relocation is nearly complete, and we will be sharing photos and videos of the new shop very soon.

If you have an open order, please know we are working hard to ship. Most open orders will leave the new facility within the next week. A small number will be delayed while we wait on parts from our vendors. If your order is affected, we will reach out to you directly, and we thank you in advance for your patience.

What Comes Next

Our goal is to bring new energy to Spike. We want the buying experience, the post-purchase experience, and the ownership experience to match the quality of the equipment itself. We are going to listen, learn from our customers and our retail partners, and stay connected to the brewing community.

Spike Brewing is here to stay, for your next Brew Day and beyond.

Thank you.
