Moves coolant from the reservoir to the fermenter. Uses DC power which is much safer than an AC powered submersible pump.
- High flow submersible pump
- 3/8" barbed outlet (connect directly to our insulated tubing)
- 12v DC powered (much safer than AC submersible pumps)
- Suction cups to keep pump submerged
Little spike pumps last longer than expected. Good equipment. Spike heaters…much less than expected, again, and again.
While it worked it was great...but seems to have about a 3 year life, regardless of how much it's used. I've had it about three years, but I have less than 6 batches on it and it just died right before I had the chance to transfer my new beer to the keg. Looking for alternates online, but this seems to be the best option for now. Seems way overpriced for what it is...going to order another one from Spike for now, but will keep looking for a cheaper alternative since the higher price doesn't seem to mean it will last any longer.
Did not last through many brews
I bought this pump as part of the Spike TC-100 cooling bundle. It is very powerful and worked great.... until it didn't. Unfortunately after only 15-20 brews over 3 years the pump stopped. The bad news is despite Spike's legendary customer service, it only comes with a 1 year guarantee. The Spike service team provided some helpful hints to try to help get it started again, but they didn't work and since the warranty was gone they did not replace the unit. I will be replacing it with a dedicated pond pump that might be more durable.
Gets the Job Done
I picked this pump up so that I don't have to pull the pump I use for cooling my fermenter to use for the Steam Condenser lid...Gets the job done!
