Who is Spike?
-
Spike Brewing, LLC was founded by Ben Caya, a graduate of UW-Milwaukee, with a degree in mechanical engineering. What started as a way to make a little extra money for beer during college, slowly turned into a side project and ultimately, a bona-fide business venture when Ben graduated. Since 2011, when Spike was established, the company has rapidly grown into a nationally recognized brand with a reputation for producing high-quality equipment backed by a customer support team to match. Spike is proudly located in Milwaukee, WI, a city with deep roots in both brewing and manufacturing. Maybe it’s our midwestern work ethic that drives us, because we strive to ensure we deliver products that last a lifetime and a buying experience that earns us friends for life.
What do we make?
-
Spike fabricates professional-grade brewing equipment made for the homebrewer – from standard stainless-steel kettles and fermenters to full, turnkey electric systems. What sets us apart from the competition is our ability to sanitary TIG weld all our ports to offer strong, clean connections that keep bacteria away from the beer. We also offer custom-designed products with welded ports located where you want them. We work closely with you from drawings you submit to make sure you get exactly what you’re looking for. We do that specialized TIG welding here in our Milwaukee facility, so you know the products you get are built, reviewed and shipped stateside, with the highest standards possible.

Can I learn to homebrew?
Yes, you can! Homebrewing is a rewarding pursuit that can be easily learned with a little effort and time. We have a list of resources identified below that can help you get an idea of what homebrewing is all about. We also have a customer support team that is ready to answer any questions you have – it’s our pleasure to help. -
Why homebrewing?
Well, for starters, homebrewing is a great way to save money on beer! Plus, you’ll enjoy the experience of proudly showing off your creations to your friends and family. There’s a unique satisfaction you’ll get when you let others know that the great stout that they’re drinking was actually something you made yourself. It is also a great hobby if you're looking for something new to try or need an excuse to get away to the garage for a few hours. Once you start brewing, you become part of a community. There are homebrewers all around the country (and the world, for that matter) participating in all sorts of homebrewing clubs and events. Brewing is a great way to meet people at all levels of experience, working together to improve their skills, give advice and of course, share their beers.
