Overview
The digital controller's temperature probe feeds into the included thermowell on the Spike Conicals. Also included is a specially fitted neoprene jacket which features reinforced port holes to reduce the chance of ripping during installation. Last (and the coolest item) is our insulated tubing. This almost eliminates tube cooling losses and will prevent your cooling lines from sweating all over your floor!
Cooling: When the temperature in the conical rises above the set point it will turn on the pump submerged in your cold-water reservoir (bucket of ice water, dorm fridge, aquarium or glycol chiller, DIY AC chiller, etc). This will pump cold water/glycol through the temperature control coil, which mounts to the lid, cooling your beer until it reaches the controller set point.
Heating: When the temperature in the conical falls below the controller set point, the optional heater will kick on and warm the unit up.

Exactly what I'd hoped
If something says "Spike" on it I'm sold. This kit is great and has really helped keep my fermentations spot on temps. The pieces are all high quality and I expect them to last for years to come. 5 Stars. A+. Bravo.
Functionality
It’s great not gonna lie, I would have liked a paper set up sheet within the box, but went online and spent a few minutes looking up the set up. For the 15 gallon fermenter would have liked a guide explaining the minimum size container I would have needed in my keezer to maintain the temps I needed, although I would say I’m going to have to upgrade to a glycol only system in the beer future, the good thing is I already will have the bulk of the items I’ll need to when I upgrade.
Dipa
Great the dipa just came out. It’s bomb.
Next Level
For me, this was the next level in my brewing. Everything worked perfectly and I was able to control my brewing temperature for the entire fermentation cycle (with my home built glycol chiller).
Amazing.
Love this set up!
