Overview
The butterfly valve is the preferred valve for the cold side of brewing instead of ball valves. These butterfly valves have no pockets or crevices for bacteria to hide in. Ball valves can trap liquid between the seals in the internal ball when opening and closing the valve.
Our handle is a special 'shorty' style which keeps a compact design. This handle is made from extremely durable glass reinforced Nylon which is much lighter than metal handles.

Epic like everything SPIKE does! Just upset I wasted money in the past to cut corners as opposed to just going with the Holy Grail from the beginning! Spike is A++++
USBuilt to last!
Simply put, this is built to last. I bought my Spike CF5 one June 1st, and I've been using it every day since. A serious upgrades from plastic buckets or glass carboys, I don't have to worry about shattering glass or cratches when I clean it. Cleaning is a breeze with the CIP ball, which I highly recommend to anyone to gets a spike conical. Makes cleaning extremely simple and easy, I use fewer chemicals and water, and it is more cost-effective in the long run. I also purchased an extra butterfly valve and sight glass so I can do controlled trub dumbs, collect my yeast, more effectively add and remove adjuncts, and make filing a keg or bottling easier. Furthermore, with stainless steel and the CIP ball, I can brew a lager in it one week, and then do a sour the next. I also bought the long leg extensions, extended shelf bracing, and wheels. Together, they give me the hight to easily gravity or pressure transfer fill kegs. It also makes it easier to attach the accessories and attachments that fit my brewing system and style. Lastly, with the legs and extended bracing shelf, it is super sturdy, and with the wheels, I can easily move it around without worrying about it tipping over. Getting this Spike Conical has seriously upgraded my home brewing. I'd love to buy a second one in the future. My only regret is that I bought an all in one electric anvil foundry before the Spike solo came out. If the Spike Solo is anything like their spike conicals, it is high quality and built to last. My wife also says it looks good, so she has no complaints about having it in the corner of the house.
