condenser lid review

I've used this item three times and it has performed well. Still adjusting to proper power levels to prevent boil overs. Hopping with hop spider is a work in progress. I would really like if Spike could come up with a perimeter gasket for CIP. Ton's of water comes out from under the lid while CIP'ing. Overall - great product.

Necessary Eye Candy

The steam condenser lid is a beautiful piece of equipment that is necessary for any use, regardless of indoor or outdoor brewing. Intuitive system, easy to use, and the thing just makes your brewery look cooler. Not to mention the most important part: the increase in efficiency, decrease in boil off, and decrease in time spent getting up to boil. Absolutely essential in my eyes. My only suggestion to Spike would be the choice to bundle it with a system like mine, the 20g Solo+. My suggestion to anyone purchasing the lid is to go ahead and grab the Spike CIP ball.

Fits my Brewzilla 65L

Great product, my biggest problem with it is the Access Port (for adding stuff into the pot). If there was a Tri Clamp capable door that had a hinge/sealed that you could flip open and put back in that'd make this product 100x better. You have to pull the clamp off, hope you dont drop the gasket in, drop in your hop additions, then fiddle with the lid and gasket to get it back in place and loosely thread the clamp on. That leads to something that should take a few seconds to do, to taking longer.

Great product

I live in northern Wisconsin and to brew in winter I did it in my heated garage but would put a fan blowing out in the window. Still had a lot of moisture and smell in garage for about a week which made me worry about mold. Using the condensing lid had little moisture and almost no smell just from the boil before the hot break.

I know nothing about how to use the lid. I purchased it as a gift to my brother-in-law who needs instructions for its use. Where can he get info?
